"Watch out, it's getting dark" – a seemingly ordinary warning, yet it carried the constant worry of the residents of Thạnh A hamlet, Tân Phong commune, every time dusk fell.
The 2,100-meter-long road by the Tram Bom road is a main thoroughfare, used by thousands of residents and students daily. For many years, this road had no lighting system. People were forced to adapt to the darkness, but they never grew accustomed to the feeling of unease. Children would often rush, trying to make it home while the last rays of daylight lingered. And parents, every time their children were late coming home from school or stayed out to play with friends, would feel another pang of anxiety.
A real change finally came when 105 solar-powered streetlights were installed through the “Green Light Ben Tre" program. Now, the road is illuminated. Children can return home at a more leisurely pace. Parents feel more at ease. And the entire community can clearly feel one thing: the light not only dispels the darkness but also brings safety, confidence, and hope.
